The Arkansas River in Southern Colorado provides the best fly fishing opportunities in the Southern Rockies. The Arkansas has more and better public access than most trout streams. If you like fly fishing for wild Brown Trout in a scenic environment among Rocky Mountain Big Horn Sheep and Eagles, then you will love the Arkansas River.

We offer guide services that include leisurely floats through meadows and scenic canyons to a wild fly fishing adventure through the Royal Gorge.

If you need fishing report information please go to our daily reports through the links on the left, the interactive river map or our fly fishing blog, where guides post the results of trips from that very day. If you need fly fishing information for the Arkansas River or the South Park reservoirs and streams, then we are your one stop shop. For current conditions on other Rocky Mountain Waters, check out Fly Currents

Fly Patterns
Check out our current patterns of the day by going to our fishing reports for the Arkansas River, Spinney reservoir and South Platte River. Our fishing reports are always accurate and timely, and provide you with the weather of the area. We'll tell you about the ones our guides are using, and if you like to tie your own, Larry Kingrey's flies are on the fly pattern recipes page. Don't miss the two new posters featuring Larry Kingery Flies in our store. Enjoy...

Fly Fishing School
The Colorado School of Fly Fishing is our fly fishing classroom. Whether at the tying vise or on the river, we offer a wide range of classes to meet your needs.

For beginners we have a complete introduction to fly fishing course with your own private instructor. We also have advanced classes that are basically dictated by the student's needs.

If you need brief doses of instruction, then our small classes are inexpensive and focused. Take a look at our 2007 class schedule and let us know if we can be of service.

Our guided trips are designed to teach as well as catch fish, so when the fishing is slow, you can learn how to double haul or stack mend. We are totally about education, information and a quality fly fishing experience.

Angler's Guide and Journal
"Fly Fishing the Arkansas - An Angler's Guide and Journal" by Bill Edrington.

If you like to fly fish the Arkansas River in Colorado, then this is a book you need. Order your autographed copy directly from Royal Gorge Anglers in our store.
